Choose Life or Death continued...

It is common to hear Christians claim that we are living in the “end of days" leading to the time when Christ will return. Even so, we seldom hear about the “great and dreadful day of the Lord” as it pertains to this final generation.

"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of THE GREAT AND DREADFUL DAY OF THE LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse."  Malachi 4:5&6

Most Christians are confused about “Elijah the prophet” and his prophesied connection to events preceding the promised “day of the Lord.” While many ideas from the Bible are being debated among those with doctrinal beliefs, God continues to send out His words of warning and promises through His prophets for the few who are Spiritually capable of hearing.

When considering the purposes and processes related to human existence, including how or why babies are born, wise Christian teachers need to explain the difference between Life and death to those who remain ignorant of Truth. How should people be taught to make distinctions between their bodies, souls, and spirits? The first step to eternal Life is knowing the difference between physical death and Spiritual birth.

"Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins." 
James 5:19&20

Other than proclaiming to the world that “Jesus is God” and that all souls must “repent or perish,” what can be said to convince everyone that there is only one way to gain eternal Life in the domain of the Master? Are true Christians ashamed of their faith in God, and reluctant to share knowledge? Are true Christians too timid to reach out with Truth needed to save souls?  

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed."  Romans 10:9-11

After Lord Jesus Christ came to this planet, and the “born again” concept entered human consciousness, many people began to think of themselves as Spirit-filled souls having a body -- instead of the other way around. Jesus explained Himself by saying, "...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."  John 14:6.

Since the Spirit of the Father was in Jesus, and His desires for us is more important than anything else, it seems appropriate to capitalize the “Way,” the “Truth,” and the “Life” when making references to Him. Nothing on Planet Earth is greater than knowing the “Way” out of rebellion back to God. It is impossible to make wise choices without knowing the “Truth”
that reveals His reality – which is the “Life” that enables human existence. When taking all things into consideration, nothing is more important than knowing where we came from, how we got here, what our purpose for
living should be, and what happens after we die!

We must follow the procedures explained by Jesus if we want to live again after death. Only through the “second birth” – which is the “Way” back to God – can we be redeemed from sin. The idea of being “born again” to gain eternal Life tells us that our first birth is not enough to get to Heaven.

"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be BORN AGAIN, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."  John 3:3-6

The God that gives Life to souls in dust-made bodies is the same God that put's Life into new bodies for souls who are accepted into Heaven!

Each “born again soul” has a solemn duty to reach out to lost brothers and sisters who are separated from their Creator. Those of us who are faithful to the ways of our Creator should be willing to speak Truth into the hearts of those who need it. Christians should have a sense of urgency, wanting to reach every lost soul who will be doomed to Hell unless they change their ways. Choosing eternal Life to be saved from death is not difficult:  "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." 
Romans 10:13

The choice to lose Life by choosing death through disobedience to God was the first mistake made by Adam and Eve. The choice to choose death rather than doing what is necessary to be “born again” is what millions of rebellious souls are mistakenly doing today! To escape death by choosing Life requires that we acknowledge the mistakes made by our ancestors – as well as admit and repent of our own mistakes. Everyone in the world should memorize this important promise: "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."  Romans 10:13

Millions of people have died through the centuries because of the sins of Adam and Eve, and millions more will die because of their own sins. Unless people understand the urgency of calling “upon the name of the Lord” before they die, the promised “last day” will not bring “everlasting life.”

Jesus said: "And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at THE LAST DAY. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have EVERLASTING LIFE: and I will raise him up at the last day."  John 6:39&40

People should not make the mistake of believing that the “dreadful day of the Lord” – the “last day” – is equivalent to a common 24-hour day. Time
in the realm of the Spirit is not the same as time on Planet Earth!

"But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."  2 Peter 3:8

Judgment of souls will happen during the last day!

"Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in THE LAST DAY."  John 12:44-48

Once the “dead in Christ” have been awakened to be taken, and the last "day of the Lord” has started, there will be very little Earth time remaining for souls to be led out of darkness into the Light of Truth!

Before those who are alive in Christ are taken to join the heavenly host, the prophesied warnings and promises must be shared throughout the world. Just like millions of people have already left their bodies behind without having prior knowledge of when it would happen, none of us know the day or hour when our “end" will come.

Instead of depending upon worldwide media communications, every Christian should be sharing the “gospel” -- one person at a time!

"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."  Matthew 24:14
