Prayer Power! By Tennessee Elijah EWNR -- Many people who believe in God and desire communication with Him have not always understood why prayer is important – or how it should be done! Jesus gave this example of how to pray: "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen." Matthew 6:9-13 Every person on Planet Earth should be taught the actual meaning of prayer power. Every person should be taught to understand why fervent prayer unto God should be done in "secret" – not in public! This concept known as "prayer" should be regarded as a top priority in the daily lives of all souls! The first thing to realize is – the act of true prayer is something that links the physical realm of Earth to the Spiritual realm in Heaven. The proper use of prayer power enables souls to link up with the pure Heart and all-knowing Mind of our Creator God. God made prayer power possible! Regardless of what deceived people might believe, there is a "God" – and only one God who is worthy of reverence! He is Jehovah God, the Father Creator. He alone should be the focus of worship, thanksgiving, obedience and prayers. "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." Genesis 1:1 On this planet, most Christians understand that God is an eternal Being. He is omnipotent. We know that the Father Creator is the ultimate High Intelligence that makes all things possible; He is the Holy Spirit, the Son of Man, the Son of God; He is God manifested in flesh as Lord Jesus Christ! Knowing this by faith as we do, we understand why Jesus is the only channel, the only intercessor through which people can hope to communicate with God in a way that is recognized as prayer. "Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?" Romans 8:34&35 Since God is Spirit, and our prayers to Him should be performed in a way that's meant to enter His heavenly Spiritual realm, people who mistakenly make public spectacles of themselves during their prayers are breaking an important Law. Public prayers do not link a physical realm to a Spiritual realm any more than waving our human hands through the air will connect us to television or radio stations. True prayer should be centered on God, not on false gods, idols or other people. If we want to pray to something other than God, we should understand that idolatry is a sin. If Christians try to formulate prayers for the benefit of other people who might be present, God will be aware of the utterances, but He will not be honored. All forms of verbal expressions performed in public – whether words are being spoken by religious leaders or by others – should be defined as "speech, " "worship," "praise," "solicitation," "conversation" – or just about anything but prayer! God doesn't want people to procreate publicly, and He doesn't want people to pray publicly! "Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee: But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves: For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice; And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods. Thou shalt make thee no molten gods." Exodus 34:12-17 "Do not pray in public!" "And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him." Matthew 6:5-8 The essence of prayer for Christians should be acknowledgment of the Divinity of Christ – which is God in us! Most Christians believe in humbly bowing down in submission to God, repenting of sin, voluntarily expressing desires for guidance in Life, offering words of adulation and showing gratitude for His goodness. Loyal souls recognize God's superiority, His Love, His Truth – and the Beauty of His holiness. Most importantly, as Christians make a serious commitment to prayer in secret places, God enters souls in the form of the Holy Spirit for the purpose of manifesting Himself. Even though Christians send forth silent prayers in public places, discernible, Spiritual feedback is seldom received in a way that's capable of prompting inspired "Thoughts." This lack of establishing a clear Spiritual connection is the most important reason for not praying in public. Human inability to filter out distractions caused by sensory or evil spiritual forces make meaningful communications with God difficult. Bible scholars seldom realize the extent to which correlation's can be made between what is "psychological" in contrast to what is "spiritual." A constant stream of stimuli received into the consciousness of humanity has an effect on how thoughts are formed. All thoughts experienced by human souls should be recognized as "spirits" – which have an origin in either God or Satan. These thoughts are then translated through emotions and actions in many different ways. "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." Isaiah 55:7-11 "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrew 4:12 Rarely does a Christian hear the audible voice of God while in an attitude of prayer – even though His presence is recognized. Most importantly, souls never approach God in prayer – publicly or privately – without interference from the Evil One. This is why Christians should remain alert, doing whatever is necessary to escape the confusing competitive forces that are found in public environments. Seclusion in secret communion with God is the best place to – "try the spirits" – which enter the sanctity of a soul. "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world." 1 John 4:1-3 Secret communion with God can only begin after people have accepted the reality of Jesus as Savior and Lord. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." John 14:16&17 Secret communion with God can only be meaningful when souls remain honest. Christians should never be foolish enough to think that God will be impressed or deceived through clever language. It is important for good souls to set themselves apart from anyone who arrogantly follows after false religious traditions. "Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping. The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer." Psalms 6:8&9 Secret communion with God must be performed with a pure heart. "Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul. I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me." Psalms 66:16-20 Secret communion with God means that Christians have a Holy "source" from which all things desired can be obtained. "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." Mark 11:24 Secret communion with God removes shame and sorrow from hearts when He is asked to forgive mistakes made – if we first forgive others of their mistakes. "And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses." Mark 11:25&26 Secret communion with God – along with fasting – makes it possible for Christians to gain power over evil spirits. "When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead. But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose. And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting." Matthew 9:25-29 Secret communion with God can bring miraculous results into the daily lives of Christians. It becomes possible to overcome earthly challenges that doubters consider humanly impossible. "Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." Matthew 21:21&22 This world might have become a better place if every child of God had used prayer power through the years to remove storms out of the skies, move mountains, design grand cities, invent economical modes of transportation, discover cures for diseases like cancer, find new ways to explore space, find compatible marriage partners, overcome enemies with love, eradicate poverty in every nation, bring about peace and prosperity, avoid sorrows from natural disasters, prevent wars, and even walk on water when necessary. These things, and much more, could have been done throughout history if secret communion with God had been sanctified according to His Word. "For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer." 1 Timothy 4:4&5 Let this message be clear: Secret communion with God can still change the circumstances of human Life, alter the way evil people think or behave, and cause nations to seek peace rather than war! Christians should habitually perform silent prayers throughout the day, maintaining devotion to God. "Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil." 1 Thessalonians 5:17-22 It's not necessary to keep hands raised, knees bended, have faces lowered to the ground – or to even be in a secret place to pray if we could prevent distractions from interrupting our prayers. God wants His children to stay in touch, regardless of physical posture or location. Prayer can be done in a closet, in a bed, while taking a bath, when traveling, during time on the job, while sitting under a tree in the woods – and even when surfing the Internet with our computers! God is closer than thoughts – be they good or be they evil! "And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?" Matthew 9:4 Secret communion with God should include – expressing concern about the needs of others as well as telling God about your own needs. Christians should let Him know how much we care about others – a spouse, children, parents, neighbors, friends – and even enemies. Blessings made possible through prayer while in secret communion with God can become a powerful tool in the hands of true believers. Think about joining a friend as an anonymous volunteer to reach out to lost souls through prayer. "Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Matthew 18:19&20 During your prayer times, please agree with this man from Tennessee – even though you and I are in separate locations: (1) We agree that Christians in all nations will be inspired to talk about God and His Kingdom in public places. Christians will praise Him for His goodness and testify about things He has done in their lives. Christians will take their prayers to God in secret places rather than making a public spectacle of their sacred, Spiritual communications. Christians will express themselves in many ways to encourage unity of faith – for the purpose of making secret gathering places possible everywhere in the world. (2) We agree that God will reward Christians for secret prayers through miracles which will be a public witness to lost souls. As numbered days pass away in the midst of confusion and strife, Christians in hidden places will become Lights to this darkened world where a supernatural Hand of protection is needed to shield us from evil. Together, we will make way for the coming of the One who has power over every enemy of righteousness! (3) We agree that God will make it desirable for millions of lost souls to repent of sin before Jesus catches us away. Let the latter prophecies of MIDNIGHT SUNLIGHT come to pass! Even though anti-God nations will be glad when turmoil causes grief in American cities, mocking voices will be screaming in anguish when rushing waters turn their national borders red. Christians, let not your hearts be turned from faith in Jesus when millions of rebellious souls perish and governments fail. God has sent a dividing line to separate the just from the unjust. You are now witnessing a Spiritual cleansing meant to snatch good out of evil. These years of 2003 through 2007 are years of transition! Please understand the urgency of this hour! "For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Matthew 24:38&39 "As for me, I will call upon God, and the LORD shall save me. Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice." Psalms 55:`6&17 |
