Laws as received by Moses with commentary by Tennessee Elijah |
"Thou shalt have no other gods before me." |
Law 1 |
The LAWS of GOD were established for His reasons -- and His Laws have never been repealed! For the sake of expanding human understanding and providing clarity within the context
of contemporary Life, it is important for each of us to note that even though
God's Laws were first revealed and written in the context of primitive cultures, they are just
as relevant today. Those who voluntarily choose the path of conformity to the desires of God will be accepted into His domain eternally. Those who choose rebellion against the
Omnipotent Father Creator during their Life on Earth will be evaluated, separated
from God and His obedient family -- and then will be confined eternally with Satan and his wayward followers. "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." Monotheistic religions such as Judaism, Islam and Christianity express belief in a Supreme Being who is worshiped as the One and only God. God is identified as the Father, Son of God, Lord Jesus Christ and as the Holy Spirit by most Christians. How "One God" can take the form of a Trinity as defined in the minds of the masses is a question that has caused debate and confusion through the centuries. When people think in terms of a Universal Spirit as being the Mind of God and this Mind being the Father Creator, Jesus is then seen as the Holy Mind that is linked to a pure earthly flesh vessel -- and the Holy Spirit is seen as the Mind that comes to believers in the form of a "Guide" and "Comforter." Jesus was alive on this planet about 2000 years ago. He lived for 33 years. He died and was in a tomb for 3 days before returning to Life. According to the written Word, He later ascended into Heaven. He is presently with God the Father in a "transformed" body that has been designed to exist in both Heaven and on Planet Earth. Jesus was simultaneously God and human -- long before the concept of "Spiritual incarnation" was fully understood by practicing Christians. Even though time passes, Jesus remains as God; the Alpha and Omega; the Intercessor; the King of kings and Lord of lords -- being "One" with the Father and the Father with Him. The Word of God is a pure Spirit that brings Truth, Love, Beauty and Harmony into this earthly dimension of Life. Energy forces coming out of the mouth of Satan in the form of spirit-words are nothing but "evil spirits" that are sent to corrupt everything God has spoken into existence. In his attempt to usurp the authority of the Father Creator, Satan is conspiring to be equal with God. Each soul has the freedom to choose either pure Spirits or evil spirits when they enter human flesh. Each mentally mature person born on this planet -- who has been given the Good News of the Gospel -- will be held accountable by God for choices made during Life. People might choose to obey God, receive Jesus as God, use faith to believe in God -- or they might ignorantly choose to create their own gods. There are many good or bad choices to be made by people! There are many false gods that can be served instead of the God of Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Esau, Jacob, Moses and Elijah. In the book of Genesis, chapter 17, verse 5, we read: "Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee..." In the book of Exodus, chapter 25, verse12, we read: "Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham..." In the book of Genesis, chapter 17, verse 19, we read: "And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him..." In the book of Genesis, chapter 25, verse 26, we read: "And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them..." In the book of Exodus, chapter 2, verses 9 and 10, we read: "And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it. And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water..." In the book of 1 Kings, chapter 17, verse1, we read: "And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word..." In the book of Malachi, chapter 4, verses 5 and 6, we read: "Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse..." There really is only One true God -- and only He has power and glory over all people who choose to obey and worship Him! Maybe Judge Roy Moore can explain it for you during your next trip to Alabama!
